Battle of

CamarĂłn (30 April 1863) - the battle at the E uropean intervention in Mexico, between the Legion and the Mexica n army. At the end of March 1863 sent to Veracruz arrived from Fr ance to Mexico City branch of the Foreign Legion Consisting of 2 infantry battalions and one company of military staff, under the command of Colonel Pierre s Jeanningrosa. Legionnaires received the task to defend supply lines along the route of the French army Veracruz - Puebla. April 15, 1863 year set off a convoy carrying Veracruz money earmarked for wages and working for the army of General Forey besieging Puebla.
